HANOI, June 19, 2019 – During a June 17, 2019, bilateral meeting in Hanoi, Vietphái mạnh, the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Energy Resources (ENR), và the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), affirmed the importance of the U.S.-Vietnam giới bilateral energy relationship. Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Francis R. Fannon led the U.S. delegation and Ministry of Industry & Trade (MOIT) Vice Minister Dang Hoang An led the Vietnamese delegation.

The delegations underscored their shared interest in deepening and expanding ongoing technical cooperation on energy between the United States & Vietphái nam and highlighted outcomes of the U.S.-Vietphái nam Energy Security Dialogues held in Hanoi, Vietnam on March 30, 2018, và Washington D.C. on April 12, 2019.

The United States và Vietnam had positive discussions on possible collaboration on activities under the Asia EDGE (Enhancing Development và Growth through Energy) initiative to support the implementation of sound electriđô thị and natural gas resources, including liquefied natural gas (LNG), renewable energy, and energy efficient technologies, as discussed at the U.S.-Vietphái mạnh Energy Security Dialogue.
